Uttarakhand fire incidents have affected about 81 hectares of land and more than 1000 hectares of forest in the state over the last six days, causing losses worth Rs 2.50 lakh, according to the state forest department. The Uttarakhand Forest Department claimed that the situation is not so worse as it is presented. Rumours have been spread, many of the photos are fake.
Jai Raj, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Uttarakhand Forest Department, told that the Indian Meteorological Department has also predicted that the region will receive rainfall, which will help further control the fires. The department says that it has been much hyped in media and requested not to spread false news.
