Near the southern port city of Karachi, a passenger plane PK 8303 carrying 99 passengers and 8 crew members crashed in a residential area today.
It crashed down into a neighborhood called Jinnah Gardens, close to Karachi’s airport.
A source at the airport said the pilot had informed the tower that one among the plane’s two engines had failed.
The tower told the pilot that two runways were clear for a landing,
but traffic control lost communication with the crew and therefore the plane crashed shortly after.
At least 90 people have died. At least five homes and a few vehicles are destroyed due to the crash.
The PIA flight PK-8303 took faraway from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport at 1:10pm and was scheduled to land in Karachi.
