Due to Covid-19, the situation of nationwide lockdown has emerged and that has
forced people to stay inside their home. Many organisations came forward obviously, Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) stands always for the needy. They are providing food for approx. 40,000 needy people across the city from their mega kitchen.
In the Gurudwara kitchen people maintain all guidelines to protect themselves form
Covid-19. They are properly sanitizing their hands before entering the kitchen, maintain
social distancing while cooking food. The incharge of the langar in the Gurudwara is Harbir Singh. Work of preparing food starts every day at 5 AM in the morning and is prepared by 11 AM for the distribution of lunch. And dinner is prepared by 6 PM.
Harbir Singh said “there is enough supply of rice, wheat flour & vegetables so it easily
cover up the lockdown period & feed many more people. He also said “the Gurudwara kitchen, there is an automatic bread machine which prepares bread from 1.5 quintal of wheat flour every hour. It also helps to minimize the number of people which is required to preparing the bread. There are requirement of only 5 people is needed to collect the bread & prepare wheat flour for the machine”.
