On Monday, there was a decision taken by the government that minimum support price (MSP) of hike in paddy will be Rs. 53 per quintal to Rs. 1, 868 per quintal for the 2020-21 crop year.
The time given to the farmers to repay their loans have been extended till 31 August too. There is a condition that if the farmer is able to pay his dues then, only a 4% interest shall be applicable. Thus, the government says that subsidy worth Rs. 28000 had been given under the scheme in 2019. More than 6.65 crore farmers have been covered under this scheme.
